I am a self taught woodturner and am considering attending one of the seminars that are offered such as David Ellsworth or the one in Ohio. I was wondering if anyone had attended any along the east coast. If so, was it worthwhile.
Thanks in advance.

where do you live?
West Virginia
What part of WV?
Bio.
Harrison County
Dunno where Harrison County is......If you're more southern than northern WV, then you might take a look at the John Campbell Folk School in the mountains of North Carolina. Way, way, western North Carolina.Politics is the antithesis of problem solving.
Cool, I live in St. Albans in Kanawha. There is a turners club up in Ripley I think and a woodworking club here in Dunbar with a few turners in it.
Why not take a look at the offerings at Marc Adams.

Thank you, I'll take a look
Marc Adams is certainly a very fine suggestion. I spent a weekend with David Ellsworth years ago that I have never forgotten. Ernie Conover is Ohio is certainly a superb teacher too. Joining a local club can be a real good opportunity to learn by turning with a buddy
I took a basic course from David Ellsworth over Memorial Day weekend. It was the first time I had ever stood at a lathe. I learned a lot and turned 2 bowls. The other students had some turning experience, and my impression is that they learned at least as much as I did.
