Everyone,
I”m building doors for dining room built ins. The doors are cope/stick and call for bronze wire mesh instead of a flat panel. My question is whether I should instert the wire mesh while I’m doing the glue up (like I would a regular panel) or glue up the entire frame and insert the mesh from the back like I would with a glass panel.
Thanks for you input.

I never have made any but my first thought was make them removable. Maybe the wife throws a coffee cup at husband and it gets dented. Time to cool off and a new one is needed?
FR ,
Those grids are typically inset from the back muck like glass , often with a molding strip or such to hold them in. It will be a more serviceable product for the future as far as cleaning or replacement.

Agreed, I would only glue-in something that won't break or get damaged.
Everyone,Thanks for the comments. I'll make the door so I can add the screen afterwards. As it winds up, there is some question regarding the color of the screen that was ordered. This further supports your view the screen has to be replaceable. Thanks again. FR
That screen will see some wear, dents and the like, no matter what. Sctuff happens. I would certainly make it removable.
Mesh Material
If you are in need of the wire mesh material. Bronze, Brass , or whatever else you are going to use, you should check this place in New Jersey out for their price, they have the best product.

As far as inserting the wire mesh, I would probably insert the mesh from the back as you would with a glass panel. This will make it a lot easier to replace, and also will probably be more secure when it is installed.
