I’m looking for plans to a wine cabinet. That will hold bottles and glasses with room for nick nacks. Also if any one has any other advice on building it. At this time I am thinking of a blend of Cherry/oak.
Build it because you can!
and if you cant try any way!

Do you want this to have the temperature control and humidification that are part of long-term wine cellar storage requirements, or is it to be a smaller place, more of a few months supply kind of place?
This would be for short storage use. The size would have to be approx 43.x21.
Have you tried Google? When I built mine, I Googled for "wine rack plans" and got a whole bunch of results (none of which I remember at the moment). The one I made doesn't have space for glasses - just bottles. Good luck.
The plans are long gone, but here are some pictures of a wine cabinet and microwave/wineglass storage cabinet I built about three years ago.
Maybe you can see enough to figure out how to do yours.
Dave,
Thank you the glass doors are a really nice touch. I believe I might go that way. Did you etch the glass yourself?
Steve
I used a custom glass etching company. They gave me a book with the patterns they could do and the customer and I worked out the design.
Here are some pics of a cabinet I built a while back. It has lights, wine glass racks and storage for booze, wine, glassware, and a humidor. I did not use any plans, but you may be able to get some inspiration form it.
The veneer is Kevazinga, and the rest of the cabinet is mahogany solids and mahogany ply.

Peter,
Your work is inspirational thank you. I really liked the way you handled the wine storage with the two different styles. I also am inspired by your inlay work. When you say humidor? How was this built?
Steve
Actually, there is just a space that was specified for a humidor. I sized the cabinet behind the monigramed door to hold the clients humidor.
However, I suppose you could make a built-in humidor if you were to make a very tight seal on a compartment and then line it in spanich cedar veneer. Then you would need to put a humidification source inside. Probably more trouble than it's worth. I have built many humidors in past years, and it is a difficult task to get the seal right--too loose and the cigars will dry out. Too tight and they will mold. For me it was a trial and error process, but there is nothing like the smell of opening one up and get the tobacco and cedar smell...
Here's a close up of the door.
Good luck.Peter

Peter,
Thank you I belive I will be trying to build a humidor as a seperate project. I do love the occasional cigar. And you are right I love the smell of opening a humidor and having the smell reach out to you.

Go for the humidor! I have built many of them for commissions and have one of my own. The temperature and humidity are the critical parts as is the Spanish cedar. I have some special cigars in my humidor that have been there for over five years and still plenty fresh.
You will love the challenge of a box within a box, but I warn you, they are as addictive as the good puros that go in them. Enjoy.
Go to my web site see if there is somethign there you like and i can get you construction info. Peter nice work on the cabinet

Peter, I just had to comment on your wine cabinet. I really liked it, very nice job. I have never heard of that veneer on the doors, but I think that is my favorite part of it. Nicely done!!

Here is a plan that is my next project. I'm making two one for myself and one for some good friends. I've purchased from this group before and like the plans.

If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
