Help I need a book on how to build windows. I had some storm windows for my century house built and now I would like to try it. I know that where the panes go has a name but I have forgotten it. If I am right they can be bought and then fitted. The frame looks easy enough.
Thanks for the help

Make Your Own Handcrafted Doors and Windows by John Birchard. Amazon has a few for sale and the Los Angeles Public Library has 2 circulating copies.
Thankyou very much. I no longer live in LALA land so I will order a copy from Amazon.
Again thanks

Help. Amazon does not have a copy does anyone have one that they would sell or that I could scan. Winter is here and I want to build them soon
Check Abebooks, a consortium of booksellers.
Online at http://www.abebooks.com
Good luck.

Q: How do you know when a politician is lying?
A: His lips are moving.
Amazon has 3 copies, all used. Go to Amazon, search books for windows doors. It comes up as item #6 or so.
No wonder I am being told to go to the library. Is it really seventyfive dollars us?
Looks like it. Some public libraries and University libraries have what's called "interlibrary loan". Go talk to your local librarian, unless you live in some place like Stevensville MT which doesn't have a library.
I am in Flemingsburg Kentucky no library here. Going to Toronto in two weeks will try there.
Thanks All
The Toronto Public Library has 12 copies, one in each of 12 different branches. Go to http://www.tpl.toronto.on.ca/ to find the branch closest to where you'll be.
Good man and very together.
Thanks again.

The old Audel millwork and carpentry had a pretty good section on windows. You tried the local library? BTW...the question would be more suited at breaktime than a furniture making forum. Breaktime is house and construction oriented.
I did not realize that I was looking in the wrong place. this is my first time here.
I do miss Fine Furniture.
