Hi there, I’m not a woodworker. Can anyone help me identify the wood used for the top of this coffee table? I’m attaching a few photos. It’s a solid 6′ x 2′ x 2″ slab of wood that has been carved into a unique shape.

Very nice walnut

Looks like walnut. You've got two big branches and some crotch in there. You don't often see such prominent branches in a slab like that. It makes for a very unstable board. This one seems to have come out great.
I've used a very similar slab for a headboard. It had a few cracks around the big knots when I got it and developed a couple more. Not a problem for me, but something to be aware of, especially if it's a table top.
I to think it’s walnut.
