I’ve been kicking the idea around for the last couple of years of building my own entry door. An article in the latest issue of FHB (“Building a Cherry Entry Door”) has finally inspired me to get on the project.
I liked the textured insulated glass panels used in the published project and would like to know if anyone out there has a good internet source for insulated glass (I live in a small town and its a chore to get out and shop) I could look into.

I'm north of the border and this may not help you, but 3 years back I was able to buy an insert 24 x 38 from RONA - - you should be able to get the equivalent from HD or Lowes or any other building centre. I "rebuilt" our original 2" cedar door to take the insert. Building centres have many different designs of inserts -- good luck.
Your local glass supplier should be able to make any size you need.
Most any glass shop can get the insulated glass, then they send it out to get it tempered.
Where in OH? Me too. Near me in Middlefield OH there is an Amish window shop that will order replacement thermopane windows to size. Either plain or lowE, double or triple pane. They are called OAR windows. But any good window Mfg. should be able to order your needs. Tempered glass is problematic and I would go for a personal pick up rather than shipment.
