Lynn,
I may be wrong, but you do not see your post until someone else responds to it. If you expand the catagory (ie. general, tools, finishing, etc.) where you posted your message you should be able to see it..
As a long time lurker, maybe I can help explain. This forum, in its standard form, shows you only the messages that you haven't read yet. The ones you have already read are available most easily by clicking on the category header on the left side, it will then shift to show you all 50 threads in that category whether you have read them or not.
The dropdown box at the top of the column on the left gives you some options to return to the unread view which is the default setting or to other views of the threads.
At the bottom of the right column is a place to choose the messages in the thread since you can only see 20 messages at a time. The standard form automatically takes you to where you left off on your last visit and only shows the new messages.
I hope this helps a little, if not, I'll just hide in the corner again.
Lefty - Lurker without an attitude or a clue
Lynn, at the top of the left-hand column, look for the box under Show Discussions. Use the down-arrow to select "of High Interest." The resultant list will have any discussion you have participated in, including a thread that you started (notice all the "thumbs-up" symbols). Using that list should help you find your missing post.
Special Note: If you are not seeing that Show Discussions box, then you must be in Basic View rather than Advanced View. To change it, go to the bottom of the right-hand column and look for the link to change to advanced view. Personally, I've seen much more confusion produced by the Basic View than the Advanced View.
This Prospero format can be confusing at first. If you need any further help, feel free to email me (click on my name) or post again. We'll be glad to help.
