When should a raised panel door be finished? I have some pre-assembled raised panel doors that I’m going to hang on a cabinet. Some fine tuning for fit is required. Is it best to finish the doors after sizing and prior to installation or should one size and mount the doors to establish mounting location first, then finish? I know the second option involves additional effort, but want to know which is preferred. Thanks.

I fit hardware BEFORE finishing. Hinges, locks, pulls, etc. Working this way allows me to "two-fist" the wood (or clamp, if need be) to mark and cut the locations. When I'm comfortable with the fit, I remove the hardware, clean up the soil and marks and go about finishing.
Regards.
