Just clicked on “unread messages to me” (as I always do when logged in) and got messages going back to early April. Although there were a couple I hadn’t read, the rest had been read within a day or two after they were written.
Anyone else?
Jeff

Yep, it's all screwed up. Don't make the mistake I did! At the bottom of "All Unread Messages to Me" I clicked on "Mark all as read" -- but that applied not just to those messages, but to all current. Sheesh. Some kinda updating thing out of whack, maybe?

SYSOP is working on this problem. There's a thread in the Sandbox if you want to follow the excitement.

OK, guys 'n gals, if you get a bogus "Unread Messages to Me" list, what you need to do is click on each message in order to get it "read" and the list will disappear. According to Mark, the Prospero people are tracking down what caused this glitch. Note that clicking on "Mark all discussion read" does not work.

Make judicious us of the 'Ignore' button. fg's caterpillar thread got that treatment straight away, ha, ha. Don't ever bother clicking on the "Responses to "Me"" button.
Just a couple of days ago I was signed in, and clicked on that responses to me button out of curiosity, and found about 40 threads with responses of one sort or another. Some were a year or more old-- stale news, ha, ha, which I'd already read as a Guest. Slainte.

Richard, that bogus list that you got is known as a "glitch." It has been fixed. All that signing in and out, in and out, man that would make me dizzy!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
