do you mean pallets? the wooden-slatted things that suff is transported with? Yes, I have heard of folks using these for lots of projects -boxes, frames, even nice furniture, once the food is planed smooth. Sometimes they are made with good hardwood, not just cheap pine. Just watch the nails.
Hi chainsawlady,
Years ago I did the finish carpentry on a house that used hand carved luan ( mahogany ) doors from the Philippians. They were shipped in mahogany crates. Beautiful, clear stuff. I hope you're that lucky.

ps boxes, puzzles, children's toys, kitchen cabinets... depends on what you have and how much. Have fun with it.
Cut out and discard nails and nail holes. The remainder makes great cleat material. I have glued up pieces for segmented bowls, etc.

cadiddlehopper....as in Clem? Red Skelton? it's been a few years since I even thought about him.
Chain lady, if the wood has been properly dried and cut into usable 'billets' before re-sawing into smaller parts, you'll do fine.
Tool handles/mallets come to mind. (Attn Forest Gurl)
I've made bird house tapered shingles, kitchen slicing boards/ leather cutting boards/ leather hole punching blocks / large checkers and checker boards as well Wood spoons spatulas/ small cheese slicing boards/ coasters etc etc. Good luck Steinmetz.
