The subject of up and coming modern woodworkers came up recently and immediately I thought of Strother Purdy. He was a contributing editor for Fine Woodworking for a while. I always enjoyed his articles. I enjoyed his work and approach.
I have not read or heard about him in a while. I could Google but that wouldn’t be as fun as hearing from you all.
So . . .
What Ever Became of Mr Purdy ?
( my e-mail has decided to stop working so if you send anything directly to me I may not get it. I threw out a bunch to make some room and went through some Help suggestions to no avail. Have not received an e-mail since Aug 20. )
PS: Queenmasteroftheuniverseandbabybunnytrainer just sent mail to me on mac.com and me.com so ‘ell if I know. I do know NetFlix loves me and Amazon and Charlie Rose and Newyork Times and haven’t heard from them in days. : (

Roc,
I had never heard of Purdy, but I looked up his website. Very creative guy.
In this day and age when most woodworkers are leaving woodworking to write about it or to teach it, it is good to know of a guy who went from writing about it to actually being a fine furniture maker.
VERY UPLIFTING.
