Was gone for a couple of days. Came back and discovered that a quart coffee can half full of shellac solution had rusted through the bottom. Now I have 1/2 qt of shellac solution all over my workbench, under everything, and a general sticky mess! I didn’t know shellac made such a good glue. Coffee can was new and pressed into service 2 months ago??? Guess next time I will use a glass or plastic jar!

Plastic will not give you any better finish for your workbench than the metal can. Glass will not be affected and will result in a poorer finish on your workbench.Scott C. Frankland

Yikes Mike, sounds nasty... Although, I am imagining it right now and having a tough time keeping a straight face. I've got this vision of you standing in the stuff trying to figure out how not to track the stuff into the house. Suddenly you think to take off your shoes but then you realize that your fingers are going to be stuck to your shoe laces and finally, you just stand there and laugh, realizing that theres not a darn thing you can do. Stuff happens..
