Would any of you fine folks out there have any idea where i may find some vintage photos of woodworking shops and the like? I have no specific need, only to find photo’s to perhaps print (or have printed) and frame to adorn a few spaces in my shop near my collections. Thumbing through some of the older issues of FWW (issues 1 through say 40) there are some fine photo’s of old shops. The one that caught my eye and gave me the notion was Jan/Feb 1981 #26 pg 48 Gimson and the Barnsleys. The picture eludes to a treadle powered table saw in the background. Any info, links or thoughts would be appreciated.

Why not get some of the old Ridgid Pipe Tool calendars? - lol
Jeff,
Check out Toolemera Press's website. http://www.toolemera.com
Pete Taran's site also has some cool old carpenter pics. http://www.vintagesaws.com

Ha, Kit, that is a good fun link. I may have to get a print of this lathe to hang in the shop. I would imagine that back in those days, kids would come by to see this tool like todays kids are captivated by hand held video games. http://www.toolemera.com/hirespdf/turnercathires.pdf
Gee dave that was good!!! I had one in my shop and a lady customer took unberage with it. Also a shoe maker I made a tiny leather bikini and glued it over the naughty bits. That got more comments that before. She came back again and just laughed at my fix.
I remember seeing those calendars in the strangest places. We had 4-5 of them in the service bays of a gas station I worked at in the early 60's. Customers weren't allowed in the service bays, so we were fine. - lol
