I think these are two of the best that I have dealt with

Berkshire Veneer is a smaller company with great service
certainly wood also has great service
Thanks to all. I'll check them out.
Also look at B & B Rare Woods. They have some great selections, with service to match. They're in Colorado.
I get my veneer and supplies from joewoodworker.com mainly because I get good service and it usually ships via UPS the same day. I think it's in Maryland - all I know is that regular UPS gets it here (NJ) the next day - very convenient.

I'll second joewoodworker.com
Joe's a gentleman and a scholar. His service is excellent, his prices are the best I've found for non-bulk purchases, and his veneer selection makes me drool. Over 20 orders and I keep going back. Joe's a pleasure to deal with.
Has anyone tried this one, the prices seem so good.

For basic veneers I've been happy with a seller on eBay, Veneer1. Curly maple, curly cherry, English sycamore and basic flitch stock for pretty low prices.
Thanks Pondfish, I'll look him up. Have your tried Herzog Veneers Inc on e-bay?
Not yet - from experience, can you recommend them?Recommending the use of "Hide Signatures" option under "My Preferences" since 2005
No, was hoping you had, they seem to be another source of reasonably priced veneer. I'm currently suffering from sticker shock. The last time I bought veneer was in the mid 90's, I bought a great deal of stock over a short period back then and I'm just finsihing it up. The prices seem to have trippled since then. I'll get over it.
