Hi,
I am about to buy a Bosch 10″ sliding compound miter saw. The blade on this saw will probably be for wood. If I remove this blade and attach a blade for aluminum, would I be able to cut aluminum profiles safely with it?
How about if I remove the wood cutting blade and attach one of those thin metal cutting disks (same inner and outer diameter as the stock blade), would I be able to safely cut steel profiles?

Non ferrous metals are regularly cut on chop saws, but you must use the proper blade for cutting on a chop saw which is probably different from a metal cutting blade for a table saw, the blade maker can tell you what you need. From experience I can tell you that you should always clamp the metal down before you make the cut.
If you are thinking about using an abrasive blade for cutting steel I wouldn't recommend it, the hot sparks and thrown off abrasive will probably damage the saw.
