Usually I try to avoid big box stores like Lowe's, ....but with this 20% off sale I couldn't resist (savings almost $100.) to enhance my shop with a hitachi 10" dual bevel compound sliding miter saw. My old 8-1/2" hitachi is still going strong (purchased when they first came out, early 90's???, cost then was close to $600.) It will be now be nice to cut opposite bevels with much more accuracy.
I guess amazon must be taking a hit, get your deals where and while you can.
Merry Christmas:)

Thanks for the post. I just purchased the Dewalt Planer 734 from amazon less than 10 days ago and sufice to say I just contacted them after reading your post to see what can be done about my purchase. I paid 334.00 for the planer and going to there sight tonight noticed they have it for 278.00. Hopefully they will be able to credit my account rather than making me return it to repurchase it lol. Any way Thank you for the post. Take it easy

Congrats Centaur! I thought they'd come through for you, as they try to be competitive with the Big Box stores, and those guys will usually do the same. You might want to go over to Matthew's "DeWalt 735 planer failure" thread and fill him in on how you did it, LOL! He won't believe you actually accomplished something with Amazon! I think he needs a guide to get through the .com coporate maze.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
