guys an gals,
got a line on some 5/4 teak, rough-sawn, various width(4″ to 8″) mostly 12′
probably about 300 board feet. it’s been ricked, and sitting out side for a LONG time, but shows no signs of rot or other nasties.
ran some through a 13″ planer, and damn near killed the machine. it’s beautiful.
any ideas as to a board foot price for this lumber??
jus lemme know, and thanks!!
casey..

It depends on whether it's so-called "plantation teak" or the natural grown teak. The prices for the two are much, much different.
For a piece I built recently the total cost of the mahogany I ended up using was about $200. I think that was at about $5.50 bd/ft. The price of the teak that I thought I was going to use when planning the project was more than $1,000. I recall the price was about $28 bd/ft.
