I have installed 2013 Version 13.0.4811 on an iMac. When creatting scenes for shop drawings as in Dave Ricard’s tutorial 012512_SKP_05_Brightcove……. I find that after creating an Exploded Scene, when I go back to the 3/4 Scene it, too, is exploded.
What have I done wrong? More detail can be provided.

Thanks, Dave. I apologize for wasting your time - my fault: I discovered later this afternoon that I had NOT ASSIGNED PARTS TO LAYERS! That is being corrected and solved my "problem."
As an aside: is there someway to assign the rotation feature to axes other than red and green?

No need to apologize Forrest,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean about the layers and your original problem but if you've got it sorted, that's great.
Now, as far as your question about rotation, do you want to rotate a component along an axis other than the normal model's axes? If so, you can do it a couple of ways. You could change the orientation of the model axes temporarily although I would suggest caution doing this. I've seen many models that have been screwed up because the axes were changed and not reset.
I think a better choice would be to set a line along the desired axis of rotation. This could be just a guideline. Then, select the component you wish to rotate and get the Rotate tool. Click on the line and hold the mouse button while you drag along the line. This will cause the protractor to snap to so the center or rotation is along that line. Go ahead and complete the rotation as needed.
If this isn't what you're after, send me a message and we'll chat via e-mail.
