I have a Delta contractor’s table saw with an extension table and a 50″ Biesemeyer fence. I can not get this saw alligned. Actually, I can’t get it to stay alligned. I can get it to within .002 measured from the miter slot to a master plate mounted on the arbor. Once I tilt the blade to 45 it will be off by .030 or more and will be out of align when I tilt it back to 0. I have tried everything I know how to do and have followed the directions from Delta for the allignmnet procedure. Any suggestions?

Larry,
I'm sorry for not answering sooner, but I have been traveling a lot and, in this case, I don't have a good answer for your question.
The fact is, contractor's saws are a bear to get lined up and they are poorly designed to keep their alignment as you have discovered. On most saws of this style, the front and rear trunnions are separate castings joined together by a pair of steel bars which allow everything to flex and shift when you tip the arbor over. The shifting is made all the worse by having the weight of the motor cantilevered off the back trunnion.
One thing to try is to check that all the nuts and bolts under the saw, including the large nuts on the ends of the connecting bars, are fully tight, it may help reduce the problem if not eliminate it completely.

John, I have checked the trunion bolts as well as everything else I can get to, I have also checked the trunion bars level. I guess that I will have to take it completly apart and turn it over to discover the problem. I have even tried to do the alignment with out the motor attached with the same problem. If you come up with a suggestion plese let me know. If I can get this resolved I'll post the fix here so everyone else can get the benifit.
