I have a large 20 plus year old table that has white spots showing through the varnish, it is a wood table, but not sure what the wood is. It looks like oak finished with maybe a early american finish. The table was built overseas, but again, not sure where. Is there any way to remove the white spots without having to refinish the whole top. I beleive the spot came from wet glasses on the table, but again, not sure. If someone has any knowledge on the subject, I would be greatful for the help.
Thanks dtlc

Thanks sounds like a lot of good advise. I'll give some of it a try, but some of these white marks have been there a long time.

As long as they are white, not black, you're in a reasonable situation. Good luck.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
