Sysop,
Why does a discussion disappear from the left frame if there are no “New” entries tobe viewed? For example, I have read all of the entries in the “Business” discussion but I wanted to go back in and reread or add a reply to one of the topics but the Business discussion does not appear.
Thanks,
Bill

They "dissappear" because you have "Unread Mgs" showing in the window just above the header section. Click on the button to the right of it and you will get a drop down box with other choices. Click on the one you want and the discussion list will be refreshed.
Thanks Howie...You da man!
Thanks Howie, yes, that's correct BillC.

SYSOP,
Okay, now tell me how to do it. On my screen it says only 'unread' and not 'unread msg.' There is no button to the right of 'unread'. To the left it says 'all' but clicking on that doesn't produce a drop-down menu. What I need is a 'mark all as read' function.

Took me a while to figure that one out, too. Even so, I think one of my topics did disappear the day after I posted. I still can't find it.When the going gets tough . . . it's tough going!
On my screen, there is box just above the listing of message headers on the left hand side of the screen. Over this box are the words "Show discussions". Right underneath is a box that contains "with unread msgs". Just to the right of the box is a small box with a down pointer. Click on the down pointer and you should get a drop down menu with a number of choices. Pick the one you want, the menu will close and then you click on the "Go" button directly to the right.
If your screen doesn't look like mine, I can't help. Guess you're going to have to wait for Tim Sams to answer that.
Howie,
Thanks for the help. But I'm afraid that no 'show discussions', no 'with unread messages' and no little box are anywhere on my screen. The only similar thing I have is a naked 'unread' at the top of the message heading column.
Sigh.

Alan,
Click on "ALL" to switch modes. All will show all discussions.

Bill,
Thanks for the help. I've experimented with the 'all' but it doesn't do what I want. I want a 'mark all as read' or something similar.
Alan
Try changing to the advanced view. On the bottom of the right side. Click and see if it makes a difference.

Alan,
Lefty is right. If you switch to Advanced View, you'll see that pull down menu. Email me at [email protected] if you still have problems.
