As many of you guys know, the Badger Pond forums will be no longer after February. One of the forums is dedicated strictly to handtool questions called Neanderthal haven, and probably has far more handtool information in its archives than any other site on the internet. There are many threads on building your own tools, including infill planes (which I find fascinating) and other information which IMO is too valuable a resource to be lost.
My question to the sysop is, would it be possible to set up a new folder in knots for handtool questions, which would contain the past threads from Badger Pond as well. I’m sure many woodworkers who visit knots would find it interesting, and there are many woodworkers at badger pond who would be extremely grateful to see all of that information safe in a new place. I’m sure Wayne (the moderator) would allow all the info to be transferred into the knots forum.
Reading the posts at Neanderthal haven has made me a better woodworker, and there are so many woodworkers out there that could benefit from the knowledge that has been shared that it would be a shame to see it all disappear.
I hope that Knot’s will consider adding this to the forum if at all possible. Thanks for your time.

Andrew,
If you check back at the quiet side of the pond I think you'll find that your wishes have been granted. Woodcentral.com (IIRC) has already set up a hand tools forum and they are working on moving the pond's archives.
I hope all this is correct. It's tough to find fellow hand tool users.

Excellent idea Andrew, I'm in favour. I should think you could count on Charles Stanford's support too.
