A friend handed me a box of tools, and in the box was a number of stanley block plane parts.
One of the brass rear adjuster knob has a damaged thread at the start of both openings. I would like to save it but I’m uncertain of the thread sizes used.
The plane is a Stanley block with adjustable toe, Its dated 2-18-3, I’m away visiting with friends so I don’t have access to my books, taps, dies etc. If I can repair it for him, it would be apppreciated.
I have a number of old Stanleys but I must admit I never had bad threads, it looks like 1/4 -20 but I don’t like to guess when I can ask.
thanks

I can't tell you the thread size but I believe that most stanley planes used thread sizes that were unique to plane makers as far as i can remember .
