Hey knotheads,
Lazy me thought I would just ask all the experts here instead of learning on my own. : ) I have a #2 that is stamped with an “s” on the body of the plane with no patent dates on the body. There is a #2 on the end of the body. I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with this type and should I clean it up? I was thinking of putting it on ebay but wanted to check with you guys before I did. I also have a #2 that is older and is stamped on the body of the plane with a “b”? Any thoughts guys?
Thank-you,
Jeff

No patent dates and an s. I think that makes it type 8 or something close to that. Anywho as a side note, the "s" stands for Sessions Foundry. Where the bodies were cast during that time.

The "b" usually denotes a bedrock plane. Are you sure it's a #2 and not a #602?
