Hi,
Does anyone know anything about a Stanley No.55 plane. It is old and appears to be a rabbit plane.

Hmmm, does your stanley 55 have any other attachments?
It is similar to the 45.

A Stanley 55 "Universal Plane" complete with cutters is quite the collector's item. Click here to see one web article about it. I don't know how many people actually use the darned things. ;-)
It is a multi-purpose plane with many many cutters and profiles, fences , stops, knobs etc. Similar to Record #45. Very nice tools if you want to use them . An original complete one is with a wooden box and small book of instructions.
Look them up here http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan0a.html
