When I was working at a shop all we used were square drive screws and I really liked using them. Well since the shop is no longer and my supply is down to a few screws of each size where can I get these as HD and woodcraft have none. Z

Home despot has them.
I prefer the Torx heads tho.
You can't do it-We can't help
McFeeleys is the most-complete answer, however, my local HD carries deck screws with combo heads. They can be driven with either a square-drive tip or a phillips tip.
the only one I see at HD were stainless steel square drives and I think they are a bit much just for everyday stuff.
No they have the deck screws too.
Seriously I can't think of an instance where I'd
prefer a square drive over Torx.
Have you tried them?
Superior in every way IMHO.
I ran into some rusty torx while working on my car, I think square would have been easier. IMHOWork Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Well a rusted screw is a rusted screw isn't it.
Torx is much better about stripping out then square heads.
Plus the square heads tend to steal my tips all the time.
Each to his own.
I agree. about the star/Torx being more resistant to cam out than the square drive. Plus, they are less forgiving about the alignment of the bit than the Torx.
I wish that McFeely's would offer the optimized thread length screws in Torx drive. I tried the square drive ones on concrete forms, and the spatter that got in the recess makes it almost impossible to get them back out.
There should be a law about(mandatory) square drives. Thanks to our Canadian friend (Mr Robertson) we have them. I believe Henry Ford screwed up the trend to popularize them.

If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Zappa,
Woodcraft will usually have some next to their display for Kreg Pocket Hole supplys. You can order on-line any size you want at http://www.woodworkersupply.com. They will deliver within a couple of days via UPS. You can also talk to a person 24/7 with them if you prefer. If you go to their website and order a catalogue, it is helpful. You may already be on their mailing list.
Regards, Screen
Mc Feelys is No1 but Highland WW sells Spax? and they are a Phillips with a Square head in the center and they sell a driver that fits both at the same time..
I think Square is better than Torx as the screw dosent fall off the bit ever, No Mag neeed..
