Will,
I cleaned up my shop a month or so ago and found a twin-stack air compressor in the corner...

Still have knee-deep snow outside with a layer of volcanic ash a couple of inches below the surface.
Will the ash function OK as a rubbing compound? What does everyone else on Knots do with their volcanic ash?
From Anchorage,

Mt. St. Helens ash got bottled up and sold to tourists. One company makes glass out of it.

so I could sell it to the disgruntled travellers stuck in the airport! there's a business plan to take to the bank.
Nice glass btw

I think you can buy it at a huge price mark-up. I think it is labeled pumice. :>)
If we get enough to process, I'll send you some at a low, low price to undercut the competition (aka "Wood River Pumice")
LOL.
I HOPE IT IS NOT 900 Millions tons of it!
I'd move to Alaska in a heart beat if it was WARM!
EDIT:
I was young and full of crap. I am still full of it. We rode from Chicago to Alaska. Canada folks were great! I'd bet most of would have died on that trip without their help!
Old and still full of crap. Long since I ride.. Damn!
