Hi All,
I am new to this forum as of 2 minutes ago. I really need to find a source for buying bulk 1/2″ and 3/4″ brads inexpensively. My husband is a technology education teacher in a fairly traditional school “shop” program. This is his second year of teaching. His construction class builds model houses as a class project and this past quarter the nails ate up nearly a tenth of his very limited budget. (The only thing he could find were the 2 oz. pkgs at $1.69 each.) There’s got to be a source out there. (I’m currently just subbing, so I am the official “researcher”.) Thanks!

http://www.nailzone.com sells boxes of 10,000 brad nails for about $14 per box. I'm sure there are other sites as well. I just found this by using Yahoo search.

John,
Thanks so much for the information. I guess maybe I was entering the wrong terms in a search. I appreciate your time!

Joy... Welcome to the board. Look for Paxton-Patterson, Broadhead-Garrett and Kelvin or Kelvin Electronics. I retired as a shop teacher 3 years ago and these were the companies I did most of my ordering from. Where are you located? Is there a 'local' Technology Teacher Association near you?? 1/2" and 3/4" #18 and #20 brads are available in 1 lb. boxes, something like $1.75 a box.

Hi Steve,
Thank you too for the info. Would you be open to being a sounding for my husband the Industrial Tech teacher? He is in the home stretch of his 2nd year of teaching in a fairly traditional Industrial Tech department. He is a one-person department and finds it is hard to constantly go through the school of hard knocks alone. Other programs in our area are very much module based with an emphasis on Energy, Power, and Technology. Please let me know! And thanks!

Hi Joy... Yes, I'll gladly give your husband a hand. So we don't tie up this board, please contact me directly at [email protected] and I'll see what I can do to help. I've got lots of reference books, hand-outs etc that I no longer need. SawdustSteve
Steve, Thanks! I'll pass it along.
Joy
