I have a problem with odors while finishing a project, which is usually done in the winter. Any ideas to get rid or mask the odors. I use everything, shellac, poly, and lacquer. Thanx!

I build high-end furniture in a basement shop with a dust collector & an air scrubber, but no outside ventilation. I contract out all my finishing. 1. I don't like finishing. 2. It can be hard finding a finisher as fussy with his (or her) work as I am with mine. 3. (and this is the biggy) My wife never complains about the smell.
This may not work with every one but sure has saved me a lot of headaches. (pun intended)

Hard to imagine that you could get rid of the smell. A respirator, however, does absolute wonders. You won't smell a thing.
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)

Pitt, have you tried changing those sneakers and overalls? How did you find out? A concerned 'Friend'? Your dog avoids you?
But seriously, Good cross ventilation and covered paint and rag storage containers sure help. Whenever I have to 'Poly' anything, I send the wife to the Cassino for the day.
Conversely, whenever she makes saurbraten, I take off for the day. Stein
I guess I'll have to can those old Chuck Taylor"s. Thanks everyone for your response.
You're welcome Pitt. Speaking of smells, My son called to say he had found a skunk living under his deck. Consulting with some of his neighbors, he was informed about THEIR encounters with the polecat.
One used mothballs, others used pepper spray (I didn't know know moths had 'em) Obviously, it worked, as the 'stinker' just upped and relocated to my son's shady accommodations.
Well, in addition to moth balls (Males only) and pepper spray, he enclosed the whole underdeck with hardware cloth while his tenant was away.
Light a couple of candles. Oh...wait...bad idea! Don't light anything, just ventilate.
