Are there any mail order sources for small quantities of sheet goods materials? I have a project that requires a little 1/4″ plywood, and some 1/2″ MDF. I hate to buy full sheets for what I need, and don’t want the hassle of keeping the leftover stuff around.

Micro,
Boulter Plywood does mail order and has a great selection of plywoods. They are located in Somerville, MA. and can be reached at 617-666-8956 also http://www.boulterplywood.com
I work part time for Home Depot here in MN & I know we carry 2x4 & 4x4 sheets of 1/2 mdf & 1/4 plywood. We also frequently have some of this stuff on the "cull" lumber cart for a fraction of the price of new. Also ck the regular lumber racks as well for damaged lumber & have an associate mark it down in price. If you don't have a home center nearby, ck with Rockler or Woodcraft.
