I thought there was a folder for sketchup but could not find it. Anyway, I’m wanting to print a full scale part diagram i.e. a 3″x4″ box that on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper the box is acually 3″x4″. I did a google on that and got and answer that works with one issue. I draw the box I go to print preview I have the camera in parallel projection, I select a standard view i.e. top and set the scale to 1″ = 1″ in sketcup and hit print and I get multiple tiled slides with the part spread over the tiles? How can I select a print area and only print that? I do have the part as an entity, but cannot find anything like select print area of anything like that (sorry for the microsoft reference). Anyway any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Bones, are you on a PC. I forget.
So have you got Use Model Extents checked? If so, uncheck it. Also click on Zoom Extents so your 3"x4" box fills the drawing window.
I am on a pc. Yes, model extents are checked and in the print out is 1" and in sketchup is 1".Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
SO did you try unchecking it?
I unchecked and it reduced the number of pages but the drawing is still splitting the pages. Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
We should try talking this through on the phone if we can. Maybe this evening or over the weekend?
Sure, I'll shoot you a note, we've spoke before, thanks.Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Thanks for all the help today! I played all afternoon and the revised settings you suggested is a much needed improvement. Take care.

?!? What were they? I have struggled with this, but the only solution I've found is to draw an extra line segment, spaced to the left or right by about a page width minus half the model width.
In your case, I'd draw an extra vertical line about 7" to the right, away from the model. Sketchup still tries to print two pages, but I can use the Print preview to determine when the "real model" is totally on the first page, and the "fake" line segment is on the second page. Then print just the first page.---------------

It was the framing square that by default shows up that caused the problem. He had me delete, and do some other changes I cant remember them all, and when I went to print it went down to 1 slide. The other changes were around colors and some tool bars that I did not have that were pretty cool. I saved as a template and now is my default. I'll go back in tomorrow and try to remember them and let you know.Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. Mr. Dev, or may I call you Slash?
To set up SketchUp to print a drawing to use it as a printed template do the following.
Set Camera to Parallel Projectoion.
Select the appropriate view so you are looking straight on at the pattern. Use Top view if your pattern is drawn on the ground plane.
Zoom in so the pattern fills the drawing window.
Open Print Preview and uncheck Fit to page and Use Model Extents.
If needed, set so 1" in the print equals 1" in the model.
You should be all set. Of course if the model is larger than the page, you'll have to deal with that.
