Hoping for a differnt answer?
I guess I'm really just wondering why the two existing threads weren't sufficient and what you hoped to accomplish by starting a third thread?
Well, the other threads on both Knots and Breaktime haven't fixed it, so obviously the repair guys aren't reading or trying, or trying to fix the problem. Maybe this will be like the snooze alarm going off and wake them from their stuport to fixit. Gary W

It's a glitch, not a purposeful aggravation. I don't know any details, but SysOp is aware of the problem. I'm guessing that the IT folk are super-freaky-busy, as they're getting ready to launch the whole shebang (Knots, FWW.com, etc., etc.) onto a new, improved platform.
Uh-oh,....." launch the whole shebang...onto a new, improved platform."
That sounds VERY scarry. I was just getting used to this one. (sigh)
If it ain't broke........

Of the BBs I frequent, this seems to be the one with most problems (the board, not the members). If Taunton are moving to another platform then GREAT!
Aside from sign-in problems, what's wrong with this platform?Gary W

As Forest Girl said before me, we had the problem with images - actually I'm not sure if that has been fixed. However any system which gets this many complaints has to be doomed. The extremely slow reaction to problems and the lack of information from the webmaster(s) to the users causes a lot of unecessary aggro.I am assuming that the sloooow response to the problems is due to Mzinga, not Taunton, otherwise it could well be a case of frying pan ---->fire.
Working fine this morning for me! I shut my machine down last night (usually put it into "sleep") and I didn't have to log in today. Anyone else??forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I've logged in several times today.
Bummer! Maybe my auto-login was a fluke, LOL. I only turn my computer off every day or two, so I'm not as subject to these irritations. I'll turn it off again tonight, see what happens tomorrow.
The other thing I've wondered is: would it be possible to log in, and then go to the applicable cookie and change the expiration date? I have no idea if that's possible.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Logged in twice today.
First time no problem
this time had to put in username and password.
No consistancy here back east.

No consistency here either.I think it has something to do with El Niño :)

Got Email of your response and logged in from my iPhone directly.
Two out of three ain't bad

I had to login every day but monday since the login problems started. I might just stop visiting knots and breaktime for a week or so. Hopefully the login problems will get fixed by then.
see ya next week, mike
Did you see Paul's post above?forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Yeah, I know, transitions provide their challenges. As far as "if it ain't broke" -- I seem to remember quite a kerfuffle when we were bumping our heads on the low ceiling of allowed space for images, which is a Mzinga thing imposed on Taunton. And another kerfuflle about having to log in twice if we're accessing both Knots and FWW.com I guess the new platform will solve these and other problems. Wish I knew more....forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I just wonder if this new evloution will be as screwed up as the last? Having to log in to Knots 2 times today is a pain.

When is the new platform going to be released? I'll come back then.
As soon as Windows 7 is in place. Until then, try OS 10.5xx then you will be with the 12% windows users that also run Mac. (or run Windows occasionally on a Mac) Up from 4 % 3 years ago. Let the flames begin. (in jest)
No response from here on this one. Whatever it takes to get FWW working again but I when I think of a new site, it is with great trepidations.
Boiler,
Are you serious? We're waiting for Windows 7? I didn't know that.
They got the cute commercials on the telly, it can't be long now.
-Jonnie
You're kidding about Windows 7, aren't you. Got me with that sly wit.
Jonnie
Would I kid a Windows user? Never....
I only know what they write in the sandbox when they let me out :)http://www.microsoft.com/windows/searchlp.aspx?CMXID=2120.BF7510CA-BAB8-4BB0-B922-4C18EFE72232&WT.srch=1&category=Windows_7_InfoBB
I have no idea exactly when the new platform will launch. If Knots isn't worth the trouble to sign in, well, .........forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
If Knots isn't worth the trouble to sign in, well..
I for one will miss 'forestgirl' ALOT!
You are someone I enjoy whatever you sound off to!
When I clicked on the link (in my notification email for this thread) I got right in, no problem. Then I tried it through FWW home page. I had to log in.
So, keep the link in your email to get into Knots.
It would be nice to know when the new platform would launch. I can deal with a lot of pain as long as I know when it will end.

And a Mother puts up with it and may be happy with the outcome!
Wow, there's a problem with the login system? When did this happen?
(wink, wink)

I seem to have to do the whole thing every time.. Bummer.. I checked remember me!
I gotta say it. In the grand scheme of all of life's aggravations and trials having to login more than once to a free forum is near the bottom of the list.I'm just sayin'Paul
"In the grand scheme of all of life's aggravations and trials having to login more than once to a free forum is near the bottom of the list." My sentiiments exactly! but I dare not be the first to say it, LOL!! Thanks, Paul....forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I agree, Paul. All the "concern" reminds me of an old movie, "Days of Whine and Roses". ;-)
Ralph,
I'll divvy up some cheese.
