I friend wants me to shorten a veneered dining room table by 4″. I haven’t seen this table yet, but I suspect that it’s probably edge banded.
Anyone ever attempted this?
Thanks,
John

If you can make the cut from the bottom using a straight edge and a portable circular saw (that's best) - I guess take 2 in. off each side from the center.
Usually the aprons can be removed if present. Otherwise cut on top but use a 60 tooth blade - blue tape surrounding the cut and go very slow with the saw.

I would just
use whatever saw and then a staight edge after and a router to clean up the edge and put an edging or veneeer on - whatever is called for
