I am building a Duncan Phyfe dinning table. And by this design, I need to build the slides. I have the slides and dovetail keys made and they slide just nicely. My question is: Do the stop pins work in engaging the next slide as you open them, or do they act as a stop when you close the slides?
The directions I have are not clear on this. The slides are 21 7/8″ long and there are seven of them. This will have an open leangth of 86″. With this table design, the center leg is bolted to the center slide, and the other two legs are bolted to the outside slides.
Where the stop pins go is puzzeling to me. Any help is welcomed.

should be on opening
so as that you do not pull it apart. it should contain itself as you close it.

Replacing Keys for Walter of Wabash slides.
My wife and I purchased a beautiful table from Goodwill that will now be our diningroom table and her sewing table because of the expansion capabilities. This manufacturer used Walter of Wabash wood slides without the metal gear. My question is that someone tried to repair this slide because some keys had been loosened and they did not do it correctly. I now have to replace some parts (two stop blocks were missing) and one of the keys has split. For now I will glue it back together, but I'm wondering if I can find replacement keys somewhere?

I've never used that brand but it seems easy to get a set on e-bay
