   If we told you it wouldn't bee a secret!

   I've never made one. How about a normal looking top opening jewelry box. There is a keyhole in the front. However, the Key dosen't unlock the top lid, but allows a shallow false bottom tray to fall out from underneith.

   This book has a few wooden boxes with interlocking secret compartments. It also has a safe made with a wooden spindle.

   Dan,

   The Summer 2007 issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts has instructions for making a wooden puzzle vault based on the puzzle vault in The DaVinci Code.  Initially it looks quite complicated but the instructions are well written and I don't think it would be terribly difficult.  It only uses a scroll saw at a couple steps and they could be easily handled by a bandsaw, or a coping saw.  The main tools appear to be a router, drill press (some large forstner bits) and a belt or disk sander.  If you go to http://www.scrollsawer.com they offer a free copy of the summer issue as a sample.

   I would like to build one myself but I have too many other things going right now.
