I’m buying a 10” or 12” SCMS and I’m wondering if the DeWalt, Makita and Bosh are comparable in terms of accuracy. I’ve been told Makita is more accurate (i.e. 45 degres will be a real 45, 90 degres will be square, etc…)
Any comments?
Thank you.

I have been using the Bosch 4410L for a couple years now and just recently did a job that needed dead-on 45-degree miters. I moved it over to 45-degrees, made my test cuts and it needed no adjustment. the cuts were all perfect and the project went together without gaps.
I have a review of this saw at the link below with photos and more details if that would help. I also have reviews of a few other miter saws in the Tool Review section.

I have Bosch too. Bevel & mitre stop works very well. I cannot remember which series/model, but it is direct drive. Jerking start & a bit noisy.
I've seen & tried one with belt driven - induction motor. Very soft start. Very low noice ( I think our neighbour woud not care less if we work at night). Not sure the brandname but the country of origin is China. So I bought Bosch ones.
I do not know if BOSCH, Makita or DeWalt has belt driven SCMS with induction motor. I like the soft start feature, just like router machine.
I'm glad to share any info you have that I do not know.
Thanks.

The Bosch 4410 series are all belt driven. I think the direct drive systems are limited to their lower-priced models, if they make them at all anymore.Tom Hintz

Yes ! I supposed you are right. Mine one is about $ 170 (US) or so. I did not have much choice. Most of the stores in my town keep 3 or 4 machines of mixed makes. Can place order anyway, but the price is sky high. That's why most of my WW hand tools & power tools I purchase at internet retailers.
Thanks
i hate Dewalt on principle...but after comparing sliders I had to go with the yellow one...just felt so much more solid...controls are in better locations...engineering seems more completely thought out...
I feel like i've sold my soul to satan, but it sits in my shop and gets regular use with no problems to date...
