Last week I ordered a few bits. I goofed and ordered a spiral down cut when what I wanted was an upcut. I realized my mistake when the package arrived.
I contacted them and asked how to get the bit I wanted. They offered to send the correct bit and a return envelope, postage paid, and I would return the wrong bit when I got the one I wanted, no charge to me.
I am impressed.
They also want $60 for a raised panel bit that Woodcraft sells for almost $80. Shipping is reasonable, too.
No affiliation, just a happy customer.

Thanks for the post, TX -- reports on customer service are quite useful! I've noticed how Woodcraft's prices can be pretty steep. RE: the panel bit, are they the same brand?

All Whiteside bits. 3/8" solid carbide spiral upcut, Woodcraft ~$54, Routerbits.com $40. Shipping was a straight $4.99 (I think). You have to wait a couple days, but the prices seem to be cheaper across the board, and on the more expensive bits, less than sales tax.
I guess what they did was not really a big deal, but we seem to be pretty quick to pitch a fit when things don't go the way we would like, I thought it was worth mentioning.
edit:
Local purchase options for me are Woodcraft (~30 miles each way) or a big box, and then I have to deal with 1/4" shanks on lousy bits.

Yes, it's definitely worth mentioning. That type of customer service, minor effort though it may have been, isn't the norm by any means! Lee Valley is a standout in that respect, and Grizzly has done me well when I've made a mistake and needed help. When I ordered the wrong riser for my bandsaw, they took it back (my shipping$$) and shipped me the right one with no charge for shipping.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Did I understand correctly that these folks are selling Whiteside bits? If so, the prices you cite are very good.
Do you have a link for them?
