I have a PC 690 Router which I’ve used for a number of years mainly in a router table. Recently I’ve noticed that the motor tends to slip slowly down in the inverted base during operation. This is especially true when using slightly larger bits such as a 1/2 inch round or a slotting bit for raised doors.
The bit is staying in place in the collett but the motor will slip unless I crank down on the tightening. Any suggestions?
Thanks

This is a recognized problem with the PC routers. The aluminum base has worn out and it has increased enough in diameter that it can no longer solidly grip the motor. The only solution is to purchase a new base or buy a new router.
You should replace the base since the problem will only get worse and it is possible that at some point the running router will drop out of the base with some exciting results.

Thanks. I'll get a new base.
