I am in desperate need of a window sash bit (or pair of them) which has a profile depth of 3/8 in instead of the usual 1/4 in depth. I have used the Amana sash bit 55340 for literally thousands of feet of sash, but the architect for this historic renovation insists on 3/8 in profile. Like the Amana 55340 it must be able to handle 1 3/4 in stock. I don’t feel like I’m to resourceful in this field, so if anyone can direct me to a manufacturer, distributor, or fabricator it would be greatly appreciated. Surely this bit is out there somewhere
Thank you for your consideration Dick Fox

Moved Post-Need router bit source
I can't claim any great expertise on finding some of the more obscure router bits so I moved this into the Power Tools section where hopefully someone can help you out.

Router bit question
Thanks for watching out for me John. Nearly every company makes a window sash bit, but they all have a 1/4" profile depth. My requirement is a 3/8" profile and the ability to make 1 3/4" sash material. Thanks again Johb - - -maybe the right person will read this. Dick Fox
The Amana 55340 bit is 1 13/16" tall and should be good for 1 3/4" thick stock. I checked my catalogs and did not find any taller bits.
Not a Problem
You can have custom pattern router bits made as you need them by almost any reputable tooling vendor. I like Gharles C G Schmidt in New Jeresey. BigBitCo will not be interested.
Send them an accurate drawing of what you want, shanks size, rotation, etc, and they will quote it. I find it advisable to buy two in case one gets destroyed somehow.
Or - You can be adventurous and order HSS blanks (Forest City Tool) and grind them yourself.
With router bits, they are so cheap, the first job usually pays for it.
