Hi, I have a bunch of roundover bits, both 1/4 and 1/2 shank. Since they’re not labelled, how can you measure them to see what the radius is? A 1/4 radius and a 3/16 are soooo close. You get the idea, I’m sure. Any help would definitely be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Simply take a measuring ruler and hold it up to the bearing. On a 1/4 round over bit it will measure 1/4" to the outside edge of the straight part of the bit. This is the part that can cut the fillet if drop the bit in deep for a cut.
A 1/2 round over measures a 1/2", 3/16 round over measures 3/16". Et and cetera. Have fun. Gary
