Rockwell 12-inch band saw (1967)
Hi there, I am considering buying a 1967 rockwell 12 inch 1/4 hp band saw for $80. Is this a good deal? I know older rockwell machines are good quality, but the 1/4 hp seems a little light… Any advice would be greatly appreciated… Thanks, Jamie

Pass on it and look for a 14" (Delta/Rockwell) model there are lots of nice used ones out there, you'll be a glad you did.
Jamie,
A 12" saw is generally considered a craft work tool, not a machine for furniture making. I would second the opinion of the other response you got, get a 14" band saw.
Rockwell tools also varied greatly in quality, The fit and finish were good when they first bought Delta but they allowed their standards to slip badly over the years. Eventually they sold off Delta and it took the new owners a few years to get the quality back up to even decent levels.
