I have a cabinet saw that I have always thought of as a Unisaw. I noticed the other day that it says Rockwell on it. It looks identical to a Delta and the Delta accsories fit perfect. I can see no diferences other than the nameplate. I bought the saw second hand and do not know its history.
Can anyone enlighten me on the history of these saws? was there a name change or is it something like the Dodge vs Plymouth nameplates ie same under the skin.

Same saw. They changed the name a few times over the years.
Thanks.

Keith ,
My old saw made in 1944 says Delta Mfg , the word Rockwell is no where as is also not present the Unisaw name , but that is what it is alright . You can E mail or call Delta machinery with the serial # and give them a bit of time they will get bacK to you and tell you the born date .
good luck dusty
Thanks. The only place it says Rockwell is on the door where you shovel out the sawdust. Anyway glad to know they are the same machines just diferent eras I guess.

And, at one point in time, they were known as Rockwell-Delta.

Rockwell owned Delta from the late "40"s to the mid '80's. A unisaw is a unisaw, period.
I realize you asked this question a long long time ago :)
