help !
i recently set up a new shop in a house i just moved into.
the shop is in my basement . After a few hard rains the mosture level and humity of the
basement went up more than expected .
long story short :
even after appling renasissance wax to the top of my general table saw. mosture penetrated
into the fence and came to rest ontop of the table saw top. out of sight
after moving the fence and finding the rust lines and a few choice words,
I tried spraying a product called rust free rust and stain remover onto the rust.
problem is the wax is still on the top and did not mix well with the rust free.
wondering if anyone knows of how to get the renaissance wax off the table top
so i can try to repolish ????
thanks in advance

Try mineral spirits(paint thinner) with good ventilation.
Is there a paticular reason you used Ren wax instead of something cheaper?
Hope this helps.

As said, mineral spirits or naphtha will remove wax.
In a test of tabletop protectors, only Boeshield T9 proved to be of any long term use. Waxes prevented water damage for less than 24 hours.
I wouldn't bother to repolish. Clean the red rust off with a gray abrasive pad, rewax, and consider the top broken in.

Old metal worker here.. Rust happens.. Part of the 'IRON' trate I guess.
Wax takes off the old wax,, but puts down new wax..
Spray your rusty spots with WD40 and buff it with a scotch brite pad. The scotch brite pad will cut through any wax and buff the rust out and the WD40 displaces any residual moisture.
