I am trying to remore 2 ways screws (not sure how they are really called) from 4 legs of a table… How does one do it without damaging them? I was told to use 2 nuts on the bolt side and unscrew the 2nd nut. No go, both nut turn.
I could probably use vise grips but I think that will damage the screw and since I want to use them for the new table I am building, well that is not a good thing.

The're called 'hanger bolts'. Get two nuts that will fit onto the threaded section. Use two wrenches to tighten the nuts against each other. Make them REALLY tight. Now, use a wrench on the lower nut and unscrew the bolt. Some people take a hacksaw and cut a slot in the top of the bolt and use a screwdriver to get them out. I have always found the first method works as long as the two nuts are TIGHT against each other

Ahhh so that's the trick... person left that part off. I will try it... thanks a million!
That should work, but it they still give you trouble, a little dab of Loctite might make the difference.
