I am in need of a good reference book for my library that can teach me the finer points of finishing, restoration, and refinishing. All this at a reasonable price. Does anyone have any suggestions, or have found a book that they particularly like. I would appreciate your comments.
Thanks

I was at Border's night before last (sipping Cafe Mocha and feigning intellectualism with the wife) and I was wondering why Jewitt's book had a loose index in it.
Speaking of intellects, did anyone see the bio of Gena Davis the other night on cable? MENSA member with #140 brain pan, wow.

I keep hearing that Jewitt is very responsive to e-mailed questions. Maybe you could ask him.
Dresdners The New Woodfinishing Book is pretty good, and the section on repairs will give you some good things to try out. Good job covering shellac sticks.
Finishes & Finishing Techniques, by Taunton Press, also good.

Dresdner also has (or had at one time) a site. No forum, but he did post periodic bits of worthwhile information. Rather a technique of the month.

Thanks for the link, this will come in handy as a reference also.
