I need some help with some project ideas. I have about 400 bdf of this spalted, wormy white oak. It is highly figured and very unique. The boards are rough 4/4 x 6′ long. Because of the warp and twist 31″ seems to be a good length to plane and joint them to. These are my concerns: 1)boxes might appear too busy with the crazy grain directions 2) way to much wood for just jewelry box lids. Can anyone give me some ideas about a project and also finishes? I also posted this question on the burl. Thanks!

My very first impression was that what ever it becomes it would look great resawn and book matched. I think book matching would bring order and calm things down a notch.
book match tops on end tables
I think if you use it as feature wood it would go farther and have more impact. Book matched tops on end tables, bedside tables or even a coffee table from your best plank. The other approach migh be use it as the panels in a frame and panel peice. Maybe a contrasting wood for the frames? Walnut, cherry, and maple come to mind.
Perhaps book matched doors on a Krenov style cabinet.
