I’ve made some progress on the small smoother. Some asked for updates so here goes. I planed the infill to fit and then cut the angled elements into the parts. I ground a slight radius into the toe and heel and then sanded the infill and metal parts flush together. I then chamfered the top of the sides and blended the radius at the corners. I have french polished the infill parts with some garnet shellac but need to have a go at them a few more times. Just some finishing and lever cap to go.

Thanks for sharing your progress and considerable skills. This is much better than the blogs on FWW--moves faster, too! I await the finished smoother. Tom
I like that top-front edge shape - nice departure from the straight box.
Lovely piece of work.
Beautiful.
