Subject: Fein Shop Vac Model 9-88-35 (Turbo IV Dust Extractor)
Based on an article in Fine Woodworking, I recently purchased the subject Vac for use in an Arts and Crafts Center on a military post. The Vac worked great. It is very quiet, has excellent pulling power, sound construction, and is very mobile.
However, it does have a very time consuming and aggravating problem. With just the slightest twist of the attachment handle the hose betweem the handle and the vacuum canister pops lose from the handle.
A local Woodcraft store also has this same Fein shop vac and is experiencing the same problem.
I have contacted Fein technical support, and they stated that they have not received any complaints concerning the hose “pop-off” problem I described above.
Are any out there having this problem?
If you are, please let me know so I can forward info back to Fein. If there is a common design flaw maybe they will have a recall and/or fix the problem.
Thanks to all in advance

I have a Turbo III. My hose pulled out of the vac a few times. The problem was some accumulation of fine dust that prevented the hose lock from engaging. I blew it out with some compressed air. End of the problem for me. I don't know if the bigger vac attaches the same.
Thanks for the reply Hammer.
Was your "pop-out" problem on the end that connects to the canister or the end that connects to the handle/tubes/attachments (where I have the pop-out problem )?

At the canister. Mine doesn't have a handle on the hose. Sorry I misread.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
No apology required. I appreciate the feedback.

I've got the mini Fein, so my experience may not be the same as the wands and accessories are different. My only real complaints:
1. The price of the bags (but I've found others that work OK for a lot less)
2. Stuff gets caught in the little hose, or, more likely, in the rigid bent bit that goes between the flexy hose and the wands. I got the large dia hose which took care of that problem, but stuff still gets caught in the in-tank baffle.
Occasionally the various bits do come apart, but nothing that I would consider to be really annoying.
