I have a Powermatic sander model 1632. I get snipe on the tail end of a sanding pass on all sizes of wood. I have the initial feed roller and exit roller adjusted fairly tight ( no instructions on how to adjust ). No matter what sanding grit or size of material fed through this machine it will sand ( snipe? ) more off at the end than the rest of the board. Any pointers on properly adjusting this unit or any manuals you can refer me to?
thank you Ed

My suspicion is that the powerhead of the machine is flexing upward as the stock first passes under the rollers. You can try to reduce the roller pressure to the minimum needed for proper feeding. I am not familiar with the machine so I can't be more specific than that. I would suggest contacting Powermatic they should be able to help you out.
