Powermatic PM 2000: how many amp breaker?
Hello, I’m in the process of buying a cabinet saw, Powermatic PM2000 to be precise. The manual states a 13 amp at 220 V draw for the saw. This would imply that a 20amp circuit is sufficient but I know that often the surge might need a larger amp breaker. Does anybody have experience with this specific saw? Thanks.

I've had zero problems with 20 amp breakers and a 3 hp. motor. Mine isn't a Powermatic but that shouldn't make the slightest difference given the amp specification. The start up current is likely to be higher than 20 amp, but the time is so short that it doesn't cause breakers to trip--that's just a factor in the design of breakers and of the requirements for breaker size for a given motor size.
I have my PM2000 (3 HP) connected to a 20 amp breaker. Never a problem.

20 amps is fine unless you are also starting a dust collector on the same breaker, at the same time. 13 amps is the maximum draw at start up, if it was higher, it would say so.
